Mantua 12/23
#1
Hit Mantua again today. Slept in late, didn't decide to still go till 9 ish. Arrived to a pond covered in red and blue tents. Temps were about 27 at 11 o clock. Got out to the same spot as Wednesday, didn't dinners as good. It was the middle of the day though. Got a total of 10 fish between the 3 of us. Sure missed a lot though! Lot of bites where they'd hit once and leave. Got one hit where my I set the hook and my pole bent in half, ripped off the built in spring bobber, bent the tip of the pole, as well as splintered it and snapped it a little. Felt like a really nice fish, stuck my whole arm down the hole with a jacket on trying to get the string. 😂😂 whatever. Overall it was nice to get back on the ice! Kinda wanted to get some nice gills, but again, all I could really get on were perch. Managed a couple trout too.

Really slow start to the day. Not even a bite the first couple hours. We ended up catching a few nice ones. Really soft bites and if you missed the first time there was not a second chance. My buddy caught the big one but I caught the rest.
