Drove to Mantua today just to see piles of cars all around the lake at 8 pm with a huge village starting up so I turned around to check out willardbay. Got to willard bay north marina, roads arn't plowed and its a good 5-8" of snow, luckily I got new snow tires that drive nice and smooth ontop of it, the ice was only 2" on the docks, and manage one small perch. After drilling a few more hole I just couldn't find any thing willing to bite so I went to causey. While passing pineview I notice most of the lake is capped over except the knolls and part of the main camping ground. Got to causey by 11 am and end up with only 1 15" rainbow and a few kokes sniffing my jig. Ice was 4-7" with about 2-4" of snow.
Let's hope for a good cold snap again instead of this pathetic warm weather.
