Got to the Mud Creek parking area around 7:20 or so, temps were in the 20's but had a stiff Strawberry wind from the west. The slush monster is alive and in force out there, but the ice was 5", with 4" of solid clear ice for a base. We set the tents up and fished in 18' of water, saw one or two come through around the 10' mark, but most fish were 14' to bottom. Small white tube jigs tipped with chub meat was the ticket for us, but the action was never fast and furious. Meal worms and wax worms worked as well, but they turned their noses up to the night crawlers. The bite was light, and most had to be teased and coaxed into grabbing the jig. Between 3 of us, we caught 9 cutts, most in the slot with the boy out fishing his 'ol man and I won't be living it down for a while. He had the only keeper for the smoker at 4 lbs and 22.5"...... He was mighty proud! Fish til noonish and called it a day. Good company, and a few fish made for a good day; can't beat that! Be careful out there and hope this helps a few of ya!!!
