Rockport almost ready
#1
Did a drive by check of Rockport today. There were a few folks out on the ice down by the dam, usually a thin strip of thicker ice against the dam. Looked all but capped with some standing water on a bunch of the ice from expansion/wind cracks. Couple flocks of geese on 2 small patches of open water. Should be worth checking out in a few days with extreme caution and lots of test holes.

Do you know if is going to remain a State Park? Hopefully it isn't going to turn into a place like Pineview, Land and Leisure run it, I think that's what it's called.

[#800000]I did some further digging and found it on Facebook. I'm guessing that this refers the Marina at Rockport concession. It looks like as of today they will be open 7 days a week. And I beleive it is located at the boat launch area of the Park so you'll need to enter the Park to get to it. Here is a link to the fb site.

The AL & L Company only manages Federal properties in Utah to the best of my knowledge Curt. And I haven't seen where ANY State Parks are up for closure or management by a concessioner. Highly unlikely IMHO.

Thanks Bob, I sure was hoping that they were not letting any State park go the way that Federal properties manage their lakes.
I decided to give them a call after I noticed the link you posted had this phone number 435-336-RENT I ask them what they rented, they said they rent Snow mobiles and ATVs for $60 for 2 hrs, $90 for 4 hrs and $120 for a full day. They also have hot food like soup, Hot Choc Hot dogs and items you can microwave, in the Winter and full Dinner in the Summer. They also rent Yurts and cabins and along with fishing tackle they sell common parts for ATV's and Snow mobiles. I also ask then the ice conditions and they said the lake was capped but was too thin to allow ATVs or Snow mobiles on it yet. For those that are interested, their web site is http://www.marina-at-rockport.com/
