Really want to get back out and catch a bunch of fish on strawberry again! But I have heard the ice has a ton of snow on it, does anyone know anything about that? Especially after this big storm? Any info is appreciated.

I just saw a report that says they got 3' of snow with this last storm. They are asking people to stay out of the parking area by the marina so they can get it plowed.

3'!! Wow, that's great news for the snow pack. Makes for tough ice fishing conditions When walking. Anyone riding snow machines across the ice yet?

We were there on saturday and that highway across the bay was there. And people were just about everywhere with them. It was a little sketchy then. but for sure fine now.

3 feet of snow. How long till that blows off of the ice and makes for good walking conditions?

When I was up there New Year's Eve there were a couple tracks from some brave souls. Though they did not venture out to far before starting to break through the ice. There were a couple soft spots it looked like a couple guys almost drowned their sleds. I don't know if it's safe now but there is no way I would have taken one on the ice a couple days ago.

That is when I was out, NYE. I saw sled tracks across the middle. They didn't wander much around the bay besides the trail. But people fishing had them all over.

I will be calling the lodge today and will report on what they say. I'm trying to go over to renegade and need to know ice and snow conditions to determine which route to take.

Do yourself a favor and machine over on the Road. Strawberry will be a slush monster with this new snow load sinking the Ice.

I spoke with the Lodge and they haven't seen anyone attempt it, so I'm not going to risk it. We'll be taking the groomed trail. After all the snow, there is only parking at the marina.

We were at are renegade last week. Ice was probably 7 inches everywhere we drilled. Some guys on sleds hit some slush pockets so I'd imagine those will be much worse this week with all the snow. We drove over on the road and the lake

i was at strawberry to day air temp at 9:30 am was -21 deg. f . we rode snowmobiles to renegade and there were places with slush, a couple of feet of snow and places with bare ice , the parking lot was plowed better than i have ever seen it . the piles of snow lining the lot were over 10 feet tall walking was difficult, 4 wheelers would not be ok on the ice and i only saw one at the ramp charging people 5 bucks to pull their stuff up to the parking lot (what a dick) i hope tis report helps but it was exstreemly cold and still was -3 at 3 oclock.

Thanks. Yea the cold temps kept us off there as it was -21 at pineview the night before so we figured strawberry would be way too cold. Hoping to get out soon. That lake always produces.

I was up at Strawberry marina Friday night and Saturday morning. There was 18 inches of snow to bare ice on the Lake. Ice was 10 to 7 inches thick and some slush under the snow in places. I took my snow machine straight from the ramp to close to the North entrance to the Narrows. I made the trip 5 times with no trouble at all. ATV would get high centered in some of the drifts. The additional snow this week with warmer temps might make the slush show up more. Fishing was good Friday night. Fished until around 9:00 and caught about 20 fish with two slot busters. All cuts. Saturday morning was much slower with only catching around 6 fish between 7:00 and 11:00. One 20 inch rainbow though. All in all a very good trip but very cold and was thankful for a good heater and a dependable machine. Wish there were more people night fishing. I have always found the fishing to be better and it would be nice to have a few other folks out at night for support.

I have heard the night fishing is amazing. But we have fished there a ton. And we usually do pretty dang good in the day. And at night we can barely manage 3 or 4 fish a person... Thanks for the info! Lot of snow.. getting crazy.
