Rockport Update
#1
Parked the pickup by the dam at 7:00 this morning and made our way down the hill. Don't be fooled by what seems like water by the shore, it is wet and slushy ON TOP of the thick ice. Ice was about 5-6 inches thick near the dam. Cold one out there this morning boys, colder than my ex-wife's heart!! LOL. Anyways, bit of a slow day. Had four poles going for 2.5 hours and only caught 1 fish. Luckily it was a 17" bow! Had a few other nibbles but not much. Forgot the tape measurer so you'll just have to trust me. It is next to a size 11 boot. It was caught with a chartreuse paddle bug tipped with a wax worm. Line was about 15' deep. All in all it was a good day I guess. Beats being at the office on a Thursday morning! The only negative was when my boneheaded friend thought it would be a good idea to set a Corona in the snow. Well that thing froze over the second he popped the cap!! Hahaha!

Anyone else have any luck out there?

Nice healthy looking bow. Looks like he lost an eye in a fight. Way to brave the cold, that wind is bitter.

Did you happen to see if there were any brave fisherman out on the ice by the boat ramp? I wanted to check the ice on that side of the lake but the road wasn't plowed to the ramp this morning and MY 4X4 wasn't engaging and did not want to get stuck in the snow.

We were in 8.5" of clear ice on the 2nd, straight off the ramp in 35' FOW.
