new to freshwater

Just got a new boat. Ready for Lake Mead. I am going out wens and thurs. I have been a life long saltwater guy. I am thinking I will try tossing a few diving plugs and jigging. Then if no luck I have a carp bait and dough ball hooks. What areas are you guys fishing. I have been told las vegas wash or up towards overton arm of the lake. Any carp fishers. Should put up a good fight. I am catch and release most of the time anyway. I used to file off the barbs in salt water when hitting up stripper boils.
