JUGS

I know in other states, Mainly mid-west, They use jugs for cat fishing. Is this type of fishing in Utah legal. I can uselly find these answers in the proc but was unable to find anything about this in there. Thanks for the help guys.

i cant imagine they would let you trot-line in utah if they rarely even let you use 2 poles . . . we used to do this in the midwest when we were kids for catfish and carp, and the occasional pike . . alot of families living on the illinois river still do this for their daily meal . . and if you mess with their milk jugs, LOOKOUT!

No, it's not legal in Utah. In waters you can use set lines (a jug is considered a setline), one end of the line must be attached to the bank. You can find this on page 9 of the proclamation (B. Fishing Methods, 3. Setline Fishing, Subsection 6.
