First off, I gotta say, I just got back from mountains with mid 70's for the day and upper 50's in the evening.....HEAVEN.

Okay, so we got the SURGEON'S LOOP thing down now? I showed Mojo this morning about laying the loop that you have passed the fly through already on your index finger. Put the eye of the hook in the middle of the loop and start to tighten. By doing this you can get the knot all the way up to the eye. Then, pull the fly and the tag/running tippet to tighen it down and you should end up with a very small loop.
And yes Birddog, it does cock to one side, but on a fly it doesn't really matter. Now if I need a loop in a line for any other reason, then it is PERFECTION all the way.
