Nils auger head cap modified video
#1
I just decided to make a video of my modified head that I did recently. Check it out if your sick and tired of the plastic holder to put on every time.

Not a bad idea - battling that strap has made me cuss more then once. Think it would stay on in the back of a truck going down the highway strapped on top of a sled? That's generally how mine rides and would be my only worry.

As leaker says a good idea. My Eskimo power auger has a bunjie thing that threads threw from side to side. It works well once it's in place..but a pain to get through. Your idea may work better.

Ya trust me I know how you feel about the Angry squeaking dolphin sounds in the air fighting the plastic part.

If you got a sled that the company doesn't make a sled cover, I just grab an old sleeping bag because my sled is full to the point I can push the sleeping bag inside nice that covers the whole sled, it's tight and never had any problems with it coming undone even when I go with my friends that got a truck..

Ya I first tried smaller o rings but they were to weak as well tried to use screws to hold the magnet in place but didn't hold let the magnet hold that well so I just grabbed some wire and got no problems with it. For power auger you might have to do a different way from the body shape but for sure those big O rings in the video is a piece of stress free heaven.

Great idea! I ended up replacing my Nils cover with an 8" Strikemaster Lazer Auger cover. You still have to mess with the bungie but the SM cap stays on much better. I thought of doing the same thing but was afraid of nicking the edge of my Nils with a metallic object. Let us know how it works out!
