Since I am setting up a Minn Kota motor on my Toon and I have heard about the electrical noise problems (transient voltage) affecting the fish finder when using the same 12V battery; I have wondered about the possibility of using a good transient noise suppression filter inline with the fish finder rather than having to add the weight and maintenance of a second dedicated battery for the fish finder.
I found a cheap filter that looked like it would do the job, so I just thought I would share the info (have not tried it out yet):
Boss Audio B15N - 12 Amp Automotive Noise Suppressor
